University Village, Chicago
Transforming a blighted area into University Village, Norton Scott professionals advised the Mesirow Stein-led team in a winning bid to redevelop and expand the South Campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dedicating a portion of the site to residential development provided the needed tax increment to support $70 million in University of Illinois Certificates of Participation issued to build the required infrastructure for the project.
The public-private partnership between the University of Illinois, the City of Chicago and the Mesirow Stein team made the project feasible without the need for funding from the University’s budget.
